One Hundred Thousand Dollars a Second
Edited on Sun Feb-26-06 11:18 AM by Toots
That is how much our debt is rising by. Is this a number you can get your brain around. Interest alone is costing us a million dollars a minute. No one seems to think our National Debt is a Problem.

Wait a few seconds for it to load and scroll down just a bit. To me this is astounding...

As a side note during the Clinton Administration the Debt Clock was actually turned off because we were paying it down..

2. Yup. He proved it.
Still makes you wonder why the Bush crooks still claimed they were going to reduce the debt. Can we believe anything they say?

4. kick
:kick: No one seems to want to talk about this issue. I think the amount is just to mind boggling and makes one feel completely powerless.

5. The cost of empire is very high. $470bn for "defense".
Not to mention the "off budget" pittance of $200bn spent in Iraq and the unknown (cuz it's "secret") costs for our brilliant "intelligence" services and other assorted thugs and fascists.

6. You do realize they are spending this $100,000.00 a second on top of
all the revenues the government brings in. We are spending way more than a hundred thousand dollars a second. That number is just what we are spending without having real money to do so. On the cuff so to speak. We are actually spending more than twice that amount...Mostly on war and death and impliments of death. That is because we have a "culture of life" in this country..
