4. I Agree, Wish We Could Have More Choices |
|
We won't need to worry about '08, and any elections, if we don't stop the destruction of our beautiful Earth.

2. I'm going to go with Foreign Policy |
|
Since Bush has made such a mess of our relations with the world. I'd really like to see us get back on thrack to being a nation that is respected in the world community.
If we have a president with character and integrity then we can do a lot to undo the disaster of BushCo.

An ideal candidate is a conglomorate of all factors. I dislike the notion of voting based on a single issue. A lot of why I support Kerry (my 08 candidate) has to do with intangibles like his honor, courage, and personal integrity, which I'm sure you understand as a Clark supporter. Issues are important but unless a particular Dem had a deal-breaker - like an anti-labor Dem or a pro-PNAC Dem - I think it's better to look at the totality of their message and their personality.
BTW, I would vote for labor before anything else in your poll, but I didn't see it listed. I don't think I could support a Dem who was anti-labor.

6. Character and integrity |
|
If we have those two things, a lot of the others will fall into place: the environment, foreign relations, etc.
We need someone with strong character and integrity to clean up the mess Bush has created for us - offshore as well as domestic.

10. Other - Election reform |
|
This would include, obviously, full public funding of electoral campaigns.

13. I would have voted for tax policy/ corporatism |
|
because this unprecedented transfer of wealth from the working people to the idle very rich is making all their other schemes possible.
By forcing most of us into mere economic survival we have little influence on public policy and no power to enforce our civil rights.

It's going to be unavoidable by then that it has to be confronted immediately and thoroughly. It will be the only issue that matters, mark my words.
