Ever wonder where * and his Cabal are going to hide when they flee in '08?
I think I've finally figured it out, It's DUBAI!!!

I've been wondering how these guys are going to avoid going to prison for all the crimes they have and continue to commit while in office, well I think I found the perfect places, check out these massive new real estate developments they are currently building in Dubai! They are huge!

The Palm Jumeirah <http://realestate.theemiratesnetwork.com/developments/dubai/palm_jumeirah.php>

The Palm Jebel Ali <http://realestate.theemiratesnetwork.com/developments/dubai/palm_jebel_ali.php>

The Palm Deira <http://realestate.theemiratesnetwork.com/developments/dubai/palm_deira.php>

And then you have "The World!" Your own private Island!

<http://realestate.theemiratesnetwork.com/developments/dubai/world_islands.php>

The World Islands are a collection of man-made islands shaped into the continents of the world, located of the coast of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It will consist of over 250 to 300 small private artificial islands divided into four categories - private homes, estate homes, dream resorts, and community islands. Each island will range from 250,000 to 900,000 square feet in size, with 50 to 100 metres of water between each island. It will cover a total area of 9 kilometers (5.4 miles) in length and 6 kilometers (3.6 miles) in width, surrounded by an oval shaped breakwater. The only means of transportation between the islands will be by marine transport.

The World Islands will be located 4 kilometers off the shore of Jumeirah, close to the Palm Jumeirah, between Burj Al Arab and Port Rashid. Each island will be sold to selected private developers and are expected to have pricing beginning at AED 25 million (US$ 6.85 million), for the AED 6.6 billion (US$ 1.8 billion) project.

Here's a link to one of my posts which links to a 2003 Satellite picture too:

<http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=520862&mesg_id=525115>

And as you'll see in the pictures below, each one of these developments are going to have enough housing for tens of thousands of residents! Where are all those people going to come from?

And Here's a site with a lot of aerial photos of what's being built:

<http://www.pbase.com/bmcmorrow/image/36209531>

<http://www.pbase.com/bmcmorrow/dubaiaerials&page=2>

Look at how close all these houses are being built, to maximize profits no doubt.

<http://www.pbase.com/bmcmorrow/dubaiaerials&page=11>

Or maybe It's just one giant Real Estate scam or a place to "invest" or launder money.

One thing I don't see is, any new sewage treatment plants in those complexes.

And they WILL be back..the younger ones of them.. It will be a few years before the stench washes away, and they coffers are refilled, but never doubt that once there's enough money to be had, THEY WILL RETURN..

Global warming will turn these into interesting diving locations.

12. Hotter, Faster, Worser
Good call.

http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0222-27.htm

. . .

But the second reason is that the scientific community failed to adequately anticipate and model several positive feedback loops that profoundly amplify the rate and extent of human-induced climate change. And in the case of global warming, positive feedback loops can have some very negative consequences. The plain fact is, we are fast approaching – and perhaps well past – several tipping points which would make global warming irreversible.

. . .

Climate change models predicted that it would take more than 1,000 years for Greenland’s ice sheet to melt. But at the AAAS meeting in St. Louis, NASA’s Eric Rignot outlined the results of a study that shows Greenland’s ice cover is breaking apart and flowing into the sea at rates far in excess of anything scientists predicted, and it’s accelerating each year. If (or when) Greenland’s ice cover melts, it will raise sea levels by 21 feet – enough to inundate nearly every sea port in America.

. . .

Our children may forgive us the debts we’re passing on to them, they may forgive us if terrorism persists, they may forgive us for waging war instead of pursuing peace, they may even forgive us for squandering the opportunity to put the nuclear genie back in the bottle. But they will spit on our bones and curse our names if we pass on a world that is barely habitable when it was in our power to prevent it.

22. Something else I forgot, did you hear about the 157-189 floor skyscraper?
It's already under construction and even though they won't say how tall it will eventually be, they say it WILL be at least 705 meters (2312.99 feet) tall that's at least 157 stories but it could be as high as 950 meters (189 floors).

6. Is this a true development?
It would make sense why they want so many ports in the U.S.A. They can supervise their empire from the islands, which, incidentally, look like a hydra.

The Palm Trump International Hotel and Tower will be a 50-storey building, rising 360 meters (1,181 feet) high. The development will also include a selection of high-end boutiques, fine dining, signature roof top restaurants, bars, swimming pools, and a luxurious spa and health club. Construction on the Palm Trump Hotel and Tower is expected to begin in early 2006.

Doesn't matter with Shotgun Cheney thought. He looks like a man on his way out soon anyway. The afterlife is gonna be tough for him. When his heart finally deserts him the devil will have his due ;)

When you say "they," who do you mean? Who actually owns these developments? Is bush, cheney, et al actually in the ownership?

21. I guess the "they" you are referring to the one in the subject line...
...and in that "They" I was referring to our so-called "pResident" and his Cabal of cronies and fellow War profiteers.

Though many here think that Bush is just going to pardon all of his fellow war criminals and war profiteers, and that will be the end of it, I'm not so sure.

Since these bastards have so little to no regard for the Law, and the good for nothing Republicans in Congress are not going to bring any charges, what will their be to pardon?

So when they do finally leave office, do you think they will be able to just go back to Wyoming and Texas, and just stash away all the money they have all stolen in American banks? No, they will need to hide it off-shore or launder it by buying real estate in some foreign country.

Dubai fits the bill for both of those strategies. It also make a great place for all his CEO buddies to avoid paying Taxes on all the Oil profits and what ever else they are stealing under these jerks.

26. I don't know the details but, these were all...
...planned and developed by the government of Dubai, who is basically Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. I've heard that Dubai has made so much money from Oil, and they know that revenue won't last forever, so the Sheikh is attempting to invest that money in large infrastructure now, so that when the Oil in Dubai runs out, they will have something to keep the economy going.

This all looks like the future home or playground for the Mega-rich to me.

Here's his Wikipedia entry: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammed_bin_Rashid_Al_Maktoum>
