Yes, that IS his actual quote! * clearly going "off script" again. If you not quite sure why this is crazy, read it again.

I heard them repeat this on the show "Wait, Wait, Don't tell me!" yesterday, and then found it at one of my favorite websites dubyaspeak.com <http://www.dubyaspeak.com/freshdubya.phtml>

"This deal wouldn't go forward if we were concerned about the security for the United States of America."

-- In reference to the sale of port operations for 6 U.S. ports to a U.A.E.-based company. I think Dubya meant to say the deal wouldn't have gone forward if there was any cause for concern regarding the security of the U.S., or at least I hope so. Washington, D.C., Feb. 23, 2006

Another good one from the same grip and grin:

The more people learn about the transaction that has been scrutinized and approved by my government, the more they'll be comforted that our ports will be secure.

-- So it's "his" government now... Washington, D.C., Feb. 23, 2006

Lot's of great stuff at that site <http://www.dubyaspeak.com/>

1. So since we're pushing for this deal to go forward...
we're clearly not concerned about the security for the United States of America.

2. !
"Our enemies never stop thinking of ways to harm us and neither do we." They should let the little Moran speak unscripted more often.

3. Money
The UAE is willing to pay $6 Billion, 800 Million for 21 US Ports. What sort of profit do they expect from that investment? Of course they would not pay any taxes on that profit. If a US Corp. or Corps were to purchase these ports maybe they would pay a few dollars in taxes. America could use some ongoing money, couldn't it?
