There are plenty of them. Off the top of my head: Sy Hersh, Paul Krugman, Lewis Lapham, Nicholas Kristof, Ian Fisher, EJ Dionne, Edward Wong, David Gregory, Barbara Slavin, Ted Koppel (yes, Ted Koppel. Did you see his op piece in Friday's NYT), Frank Rich. Molly Ivins, Robert Fiske, etc.
That's who comes to mind for me. I know I'll think of others.

it's that there are no good reporters . . . there are indeed any number of decent commentators, but those whose job it is "to report the news thoroughly, accurately, and impartially" are failing miserably . . . especially on television . . .
