Bush skips Taj Mahal visit: "I'll be the President!"
Non-inclusion of a trip to the Taj Mahal in his itinerary for his upcoming visit to India has left US President George W Bush disappointed but he says he would like to come back to see "one of the great magnificent sites of the world".

Expressing sincere regrets over not being able to visit the Taj, Bush said while he has not broken a promise to First Lady Laura Bush, he may have to come back to India, "hopefully on invitation" (note: read FREE) to visit the world famous monument.

"I am disappointed with that (not visiting Taj). People who have seen the Taj Mahal say that pictures don't do justice. It's one of the great magnificent sites of the world," the US President said in an interaction with two Indian journalists here.

In a lighter vein, Bush blamed the miss on the scheduler. "And look, if I were the scheduler, perhaps I would be doing things differently. But you want me doing one thing. I'll be the President, we've got the scheduler being the scheduler," he said.

1. more blatant LIES from der chimp.
if he'd REALLY wanted to go see the taj mahal, he'd have ensured a visit was included in the trip. blaming some 'scheduler' is the usual petty childishness we've come to expect from bush.

I don't think anybody likes bush in India....

Kashmiri Shiite Muslims shout anti-U.S. slogans as they carry an effigy of U.S. President George W. Bush during a protest rally outside the United Nation Military Observer's office in Srinagar, India, Monday, Feb. 27, 2006. Hundreds of Shiite Muslims took part in a rally protesting the bombing of the major Shiite Askariya Shrine in the Iraqi northern town of Samarra. The writing on the effigy reads: 'Muslim Killer G.W. Bush.' (AP Photo/Mukhtar Khan)

but there are Hindu influences in the architecture (I cheated and looked it up on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taj_mahal).

Minarets (Arabic manara منارة, but more usually مئذنة) are characteristic architectural features of Islamic mosques. Minarets are generally tall, graceful spires, with onion-shaped crowns, usually either free standing or much taller than any surrounding support structure.

He loves being the President. He is in love with the title. I remember when he was asked a question about the economy, he said he wasn't a "Stock Picker" he was the President.

His arrogance knows no bounds.

14. Wouldn't the sightseeing be chosen by the hosts?
Perhaps they didn't care to take him there, if it were my scheduler's fault I'd send word to the scheduler and get it changed. Seems to me if I am hosting someone I would chose to show him some things in my country, state, or city that I am proud of and want to show off, unless I didn't want him or her to soil it. :)

Amazing! "Plain spoken" indeed! If it's just an act with him, well that makes his display of stupidity all the more insulting. Also, his arrogance is becoming more intolerable with each passing day.

26. Bullshit re: scheduler. Riots would erupt if Bush went near the Taj.
Edited on Mon Feb-27-06 04:18 PM by KzooDem
It's a Muslim mausoleum, in essence. Like Bush needs to go paying respect at a Muslim tomb. Yeah, right.

NOTE: Be careful to understand I'm not saying Bush shouldn't go to a Muslim tomb because Muslim = bad. What I meant is that Bush's mere presence at a Muslim place of rest would be a slap in the face to Muslims, and I would expect them to riot in the streets to protest his presence.

He is being KEPT away from there, and for good reason.
