"The liberal Democrats and a few moderate Republicans say that the UAE supported the Taliban. Yes, but that was when Russia was invading Afghanistan, not now since we have had control! Yes, a couple of terrorists came through the UAE, but MORE have come through Ohio, Florida, New Jersey and New York. Do we stop doing business with those states? Terrorists have also come through Canada. Do we treat this country north of us now as an enemy?"

Since when were Hannity and Savage moderate Republicans?

3. Personally, I'm fine with that lie being spread.
Why? Because the American public is overwhelmingly and forcefully against the UAE deal as well. So if the right wing wants to categorize this as a "liberal Democrat" standpoint, I'm disinclined to correct them. For once, the public made up its mind before being told how to feel about something, and all the right wing is doing now is damaging its own credibility by "blaming" the opposition on the Democrats.

4. Ann Coulter, Cal Thomas, and so on
I've been collecting Conservative Columns on the Ports deal for just this reason (at my website, I mean). Even David Limbaugh said there was something questionable in this deal (although his Brother has been argueing in favor of it).

5. Since when were Hannity and Savage moderate Republicans?
Since George W Bush became President for Life. They will brook no criticism of their demigod nor tolerate dissension among the rank and file.

6. Local RW radio station pointed out
Edited on Mon Feb-27-06 11:01 AM by zbdent
"among those calling for an investigation into the ports deal is Hillary Clinton . . ."

As opposed to a more newsworthy item (yet less promoting the RW agenda), which would be the audio clip of some of the Repukes who were calling into question their liege . . .

(Ironically, the station says it's the one with "all the balls" - referring to coverage of the Indians, the Cavaliers, and the Browns; "balls" referring to baseballs, footballs, and basketballs; otherwise, when it comes to asking the real questions of the non-Democratic legislators, it's the station with all the "grapes" . . .)
