DAMMIT.. I want TWO press conferences..
One for international journalists and one for US journalists..

I am sick to death of Snotty Scotty weaseling out of tough questions by always going to the foreign correspondents. I applaud them for being there and learning English so they can participate, but the ONLY reason he goes to them is to "burn the clock". It takes them longer to ask their questions, the questions are by their very nature, concerning some policy in their country, and often his answer is a non-answer anyway.

Look at the people he regularly calls on when the going gets tough:

Pakistani guy
Asian lady
Spanish lady
and then there's always Les

he used to call on April for a religious tint, but she's been asking harder questions lately, so she's not on his "escape plan" anymore..

he should be required to answer a question from EACH journalist there..

1. Yep, and Les got three questions! Three.
Helen Thomas is routinely ignored and scorned.

It's become a farce.

4. I'm of Indian descent
and I want to kick the Indian guy's ass all over the press room. You'd think that for this assignment they could find someone who could speak legibly.

5. It's done deliberatley.. They get to choose who they want in there
The foreign correspondents are their safety net..Even if they spoke perfect english, they would still be asking questions about THEIR country's interests.

It's "impordant", but when it's dueling with current US issues, I get annoyed:)
