The GOP Fears Hillary?
Geez, they are really going out of her way to sabotage Hillary Clinton's candidacy. Personally, I don't see her as a strong candidate or even likely to make it to Super Tuesday. But the Republican smear machine is working overtime on her. Must be a reason:

1. I think some of them would love for us to run her
Because her just being in the campaign will serve as an enormous distraction from the issues.

3. The reason?
She's a Clinton and she must wield a very large republican choking cock! Not uncommon for chickenhawk "conservative" men to fear powerful women. That is probably why they have to act so macho while in groups. And nobody acts more macho for no apparent reason than an elected republican.

5. They WANT you to think they fear her.
Edited on Mon Feb-27-06 02:30 PM by dicksteele
Because if she gets the nomination,
they won't even need Diebold to win.

They 'fear' her like Br'er Rabbit feared the briar patch.

6. Reverse Psychology
... they want the Dems to think that so they'll nominate her, meanwhile the GOP is fairly (and accurately) certain that sure as hell every gynophobe in this country will crawl to a polling place with their last breath on election day to vote against her.

Slam Dunk for whatever asswad gets the GOP nod in '08.

9. What they fear: HC has more money than God.
What I fear: parochial minded people will cause her to loose Ohio, Penna. and Wisc. I also fear that she will do well in NH during the primary and be "picked" before candidates who are stronger in the Midwest and Southwest really have a chance.

10. It's love-hate on their part.
They love her because they know she is unelectable as president.

They hate her because she is effective as a senator, because she's a woman who occasionally stands up to them, and because her last name is Clinton.

11. Yes, they do fear her.
Think about it. Her agenda, as stated by herself, would benefit me and is the opposite of the Rethug agenda. Don't buy the anti-Hillary PR!

12. I think they do fear her, with real reason
I think she can win. Both primaries and the general election. She's bright, and her heart is in the right place. I've read comments here on DU that she is divisive. I wonder to whom? Democrats? I don't see that. To hardcore pukes, exactly. And more power to her. I voted for her husband, twice. I am willing to do the same for Senator Clinton.

But I think it would be the ugliest campaign in U.S. history. It'd make 2004 look gentlemanly. If Russ Feingold runs, he'll likely get my primary vote, though.

A Hillary candidacy is their wildest wet dream. There is no one they would rather run against.

17. They've had over a decade of swiftboating Hillary before any campaign
has even begun. Not that they wouldn't swiftboat any Dem candidate, but they've had half a generation of Hillaryboating already done, with time to sink in. They wouldn't even have to do any work on Republicans, just a little on the Dem side.

18. They truly are afraid of her
Because she can reach people, like moderate Republicans and Independents plus women. They send mixed messages, but they really don't want her to run. She's their worse nightmare.

27. Stop this "they think, what we think, what I think"
They want her to run becouse they have the playbook they think will beat her. Just like they thought they had with Bill in 1996. Truth is they want her in the ring becouse she's the last great Dem canidate they need to knock off to claim they have no chalengers and the country agrees with them. Look it, have Hill Run for VP under Edwards let them ( THE REBUBS) try to pick a better target by the time they get the talking points in order the Dems will have a lead that can't be stolen.
