INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Republican boosters are to the party what soldiers in Iraq are to the U.S. war effort, U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris told a Vero Beach audience Thursday.

Addressing the Indian River County Republican Executive Committee and guests, she likened them to the ground troops she saw on a recent visit to Iraq.

"Having been to Iraq, and having seen the troops on the ground, I know that's just what you are doing for our party," she said during the committee's Lincoln Day Dinner...

"Let's make history in November," she said. "Or more precisely, let's make Bill Nelson history."

Maybe the "Republican faithful" can take up arms and let some of our Guard troops come home to serve the way they signed up to serve? Or maybe they could replace the regular troops who've been denied their resignations? Or the ones who've been sent back to Iraq and Afghanistan over and over because there aren't enough troops to handle what asshole Shrub got 'em into?

Maybe Ms. Harris should take a few of her "faithful" and do a nice, long stint at any of the medevac hospitals in the war zones.
