Edited on Mon Feb-27-06 06:24 PM by Gabi Hayes
pugs are caving, then a session on that Coast Guard story, including interviews

talking about the cuts in Coast Guard budget, and how they're trying to protect us, in spite of said cuts

this is good already

EDIT: he deserves LOTS of reinforcing email, cause you KNOW the swiftboating he's about to receive

maybe he'll start wising up to just HOW vile and corrupt these fascists are, and how they'll stop at NOTHING

batten down your hatches, Lou; we're with you all the way!

5. Dobbs has spoken much common sense over the past year
about outsourcing, national security, immigration, and the budget. We need a voice like that now, because both parties are selling out the worker. They've been too busy trying to put lipstick on pigs, like free trade, illegal immigration, and debt.

81. Alas... another flawed one.
Still, his understanding of one of the major problems of our time--the growth in corporate power which is subsuming our government and by extension our rights, as well as recognizing the outsourcing as the real problem it is (despite any fancy arguments to the contrary), are certainly respectable--and something that's both dearly needed and generally (and inexplicably) absent from most leading Democrats on the national stage.

Too bad he's got a Republican streak when it comes to war; though in a more perfect world, bringing a Constitution and the Rule of Law and a Democratically elected Republic as the form of government to people in the middle east is a great idea--it's just one that pretty much won't work and can't be forced upon them; not to mention the fact that we simply had no legal right to invade their nation (even had they desperately wanted us to). Oh well.

56. He was a huge cheerleader. In the run up to the war I wrote him
an email saying that tens of thousands of innocent people will die and he or someone at his organization personally responded back saying that I was entitled to my opinion but the world doesn't revolve around just me. Nowadays he's caught on to this administration but he and many others are guilty of aiding in the killing of many innocent Iraqis. He abandoned his responsibility for seeking the truth and being objective then and many people died.

A woman had emailed him about how tired she was of "his cheerleading for the war and would he please talk about something else?" HIS REPLY to her, ON THE AIR, was..."If you don't like it, too bad. Switch the channel. This program and this host supports our president and our soldiers. If you don't like it, I suggest you watch another program." (paraphrased, but close) He was SUCH AN ASS! That was the last time I ever watched his show.:grr:

The Ticker: Lou Dobbs' Ego Is Bigger Than His Ratings Are, & Other Items
> SF Chronicle: "It doesn't speak well for the TV news business that at noon California time, CNN made a top story that Utah's Mark Hacking had been charged with the murder of his missing pregnant wife, Lori -- in the middle of the Iraq war and a contentious political race to win the White House."

> Does anyone else find this CNN advertisement awfully arrogant? "Lou's opinion. Lou's quick-vote. Lou's quiz. Lou's world." Is that sort of ego-stroking in Dobbs' contract, or what?

But he's on the right side--the side of regular working Americans, rather than cozying up to a certain party/administration or corporate line, like many big-name journalists do.

says he admires Collins: "she's staking out a position of independence" from the administration on this

"if they close the deal, the way they say they're doing," that completely changes things

this sounds like a CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS in the making

Dobbs just called the 45 day period a FARCE, if what seem to be happening (March 3 closing), DOES happen

Dobbs is amazed that he has to bring up this question four years after 911, basically saying that we're submerging national security interests to COMMERCIAL interests

78. I'm in Homewood every Wednesday night taking a class.
Edited on Mon Feb-27-06 11:33 PM by in_cog_ni_to
That's where our synagogue is. My son has his Hebrew class (preparing for his Bar Mitzvah) and then I have a 2 hour class.

Awwww...Cockers are so CUTE and SWEEEET! Our neighbor has a blond Cocker, Chauncey. He's just the sweetest thing in the world. 16 years old is a long life for a puppy dog. *sigh* I had a collie who lived to be 14 and it broke my heart in half when she died. I loved that dog more than anything. She was the best little (BIG) girl. She was a 65 pound LAP DOG. :) She was so friendly and very PROTECTIVE over me. I won't tell you what she use to do to strange men who came to the house. It was VERY SPECIAL! :7 Now I have my little Isabelle....she's such a sweetheart.:loveya: Dogs are so wonderful.

76. same here; she was condescending to Dobbs, with her trademark sneer.
I only saw a few seconds

it'll be worth it to see Dobbs on somebody else's show. he was very manly, assertive

77. He was a guest on Wolfe's show last Friday I think.
He was debating some Pub about the port deal. Seems like CNN realizes he has quite a following on this issue at least, and is putting him on these other shows!
