Dubai Ports World...Could be the Big One?

Could be the knock out punch after all these other-gates?...Seems to be resonating with folks out there...and today's news (that the coast guard found gaps in security) certainly exposes REAL LIES that have been told. Bush* and many of his cronies are on tape saying there were no concerns voiced. Their whole house of cards is built on National Security---and they may have sold it.???

Call me an optimist.

That is exactly what needs to be repeated, repeatedly.*

a few concerns but knew nothing about the deal. The people need to know the money connection to Bushco.

3. And it's such a comparitively minor thing...
...just goes to show, there's no accounting for what will be the final straw that makes people take action...

7. To us it is a comparatively minor thing ...
... but to those still clinging to Bush as their Messiah (now down to 34% re today's poll), this IS the final straw.

They've accepted his excuses (and non-excuses) re Katrina, Iraq, the economy, etc. But this ports deal flies in the face of everything he's been spoon-feeding his groupies for four-plus years now.

For them, this is like Pat Robertson announcing that all good Christians should SUPPORT abortion rights.

8. I know, it's just funny that THIS is what tears it for them.
Take us into war on false information? Fine.

Cut health and education benefits? No problem.

Circumvent the legal process to wiretap U.S. citizens and then refuse to disclose any information about the program, thus impinging on our Constitutional rights? We can deal with that.

The UAE buys the company that has the contract to provide operations management at some of our ports? Throw the bum out!

9. It tears it for them because they can no longer believe that
* has made the world safe for them. That there is still risk, and lots of it, exacerbated by the fact that we're in 2 active wars now and he's trying to gin up a third one, too. He scared them out of their minds, and now he has to deal with their fear.

10. Poetic justice.
The "war on terror" President loses his base because he's scared them so badly that he now seems weak on terrorism.

Gotta love it.

14. But the WH has been able to spin all of that ...
Health care and education costs HAD to be cut because the money is needed to spread democracy in Iraq, and kill terrorists.

The wiretapping HAD to be done, to keep us all safe from terrorists.

That's the * supporters' self-explanation for everything he's done. It was all to keep them safe.

Now, as they see it, he's 'negotiating with terrorists' and doing business with entities that 'harbour terrorists'.

They're just stuck for an explanation as to how this is in line with his promise to keep America safe - and apparently, the WH is just as stuck for an explanation as they are!

5. So do we help Dobbs, Cafferty, and KO out?
Seems they are providing a platform to get the message out? Are we going to hammer on the Congress and Senate and DEMAND accountability, or are we just going to sit here?

6. I should think so.
All Joe Sixpack understands is "towelheads" taking over our ports. I'm not calling them "towelheads;" but that's how a lot of *'s base sees them.
