Bush 34%- Cheney 18%
Poll: Bush Ratings At All-Time Low

NEW YORK, Feb. 27, 2006
 (CBS/AP)

(CBS) The latest CBS News poll finds President Bush's approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 34 percent, while pessimism about the Iraq war has risen to a new high.

Americans are also overwhelmingly opposed to the Bush-backed deal giving a Dubai-owned company operational control over six major U.S. ports. Seven in 10 Americans, including 58 percent of Republicans, say they're opposed to the agreement. The troubling results for the Bush administration come amid reminders about the devastating impact of Hurricane Katrina and negative assessments of how the government and the president have handled it for six months.

<snip>

Mr. Bush's overall job rating has fallen to 34 percent, down from 42 percent last month. Fifty-nine percent disapprove of the job the president is doing. For the first time in this poll, most Americans say the president does not care much about people like themselves. Fifty-one percent now think he doesn't care, compared to 47 percent last fall.

<snip>

Still, the incident appears to have made the public's already negative view of Cheney a more so. Just 18 percent said they had a favorable view of the vice president, down from 23 percent in January.

Frightening. He KNOWS he's out of place.

Does he have little dimestore toys in his desk? Snacks?

"Laura! I'm out of Chiclets! Need some Chiclets for the desk-thingy!"

44. Is that the Encyclopedia Brittanica in the back?
Is this where he gets his info?

Can someone get him to look in the "L" book, under "Laden, Osama bin?"

How about "Warming, Global?"

And while he's in the W's, could he look under "W., Disaster?"

Also look at how low the support is for his handling of the "war on terror" and Iraq.

The last guy who had numbers this low wound up walking around the White House talking to pictures of former presidents.

22. That's it - they have to throw Dick overboard
He's about to be indicted on Plame, he shot a guy in the face, and he's a drag on numbers. Fortunately, he already bought an estate in MD for his exile. Closed on it during Katrina, if you'll recall. He had other priorities, you see.

28. In Related News: Bush Goes to India
Or anyplace else that's really, really far away. Lordy--it's pathetic: 34% must be some kind of historic low. What were Nixon's lowest numbers--around 27%? It must suck, having 2/3 of the country think you're an asshole.

4 out of 5 dentists recommend sugarless gum. That leaves 20 percent. That means there is a higher percentage of dentists who recommend that their patients chew gum with sugar in it, than Americans who think Cheney is doing a good job!
