I just ran across your hilarious column via the Romenesko website that featured the "color scheme" gag.

I posted it on the DemocraticUnderground.com site, with hopes somebody there with an extra-PC-chromosome would not complain to the moderators. I prefaced it by saying it was in the vein of "Mind of MENCIA" and Dave CHAPPELLE.

I share your take, that the rising tide of anti-"illegals" jerks really are just plain racists. The Democratic Party is going to be caught flat footed again, this time on the immigration and border issues, since the wingnuts have been framing it their way for the past 3 or so years: The Minutemen, O'REILLY, Michelle MALKIN, TANCREDO, and the rest of their sorry ilk.

Over at your end of the continent you also have Victor Davis HANSON, the Classics professor who coined the word "Mexifornia" and who claims non-racism since he's got Mexican in-laws. I used to post the graphic below (and have since sent it to the Southern Poverty Law Center) as an example of how HANSON's Mexifornia was adopted by outright racists, but a fellow Hispanic at the Democratic Underground chose to misinterpret the posting and got the graphic banned from posting as being inflammatory.

I can't imagine what you Californians were thinking to let Ahhhnuld get in. Lately, he seems to be recoving lost ground, unfortunately. Oh, and we got rid of Ruben NAVARRETTE out of Texas and he's now in your neck of the woods. He's a real punk for Shrub. He fumed over the "don't-need-no-steenking-badges" reference as racist, so I guess he would object similarly to the graphic in your columns, as well as this one
