I am on good terms with my Brother-in-Law (BIL). He loves to bash Bush. He loves watching Bill Maher. He hates whats going on in this country. He really gets whats going on. He was telling me the Iraq war was about Iraq selling oil in Euros before we even invaded. He knows that the standard of living is dropping. He has family in Europe and he gets their take on things too. He blames the TV for brainwashing people. He doesnt even believe the official story on 9/11. I can talk to him about most issues and hes totally on our side.
The problem with him is that he is 100% convinced that it is all fixed. He actually bet someone else that Bush would beat Kerry even thou he voted for Kerry. He will not get active in politics besides the occasional discussion because he thinks its all fixed and is a waste of time. He doesnt even know exactly how its fixed, but he is convinced its all rigged.
How do you convince him that 2006 is worth fighting for? He just tells me to let him know who to vote for. But until then he will not get involved besides watching the news sometimes and watching Bill Maher.
I tell him that we have AAR in our favor now and that its harder for diebold to work its magic in every state. He says as long as they control the TV, we have no chance.
Its kind of frustrating trying to get him involved. What do you say to someone like him?

1. ask him if the Draft was brought back would he get involved? |
|
...but I'll bet he'll respond that's why Republicans like/need a large segment of society to be poor and uneducated, to leave them no other option other than to enlist ..But ask him anyway, just in case it did happen, eg: He gets a letter in the mail asking him to report to such'n'such a place at such'n'such a time for training, what would he think then?
