6. How many of us (who have studied history) knew... KNEW...
that going to war to remove Saddam would end badly?

We all are aware that Saddam Hussein was horrible cretin who should never have any held power in Iraq, much less the power of a dictator, but considering U.S. history with that country, we had no business going to war there.

I mean, even people who had only mildly paid attention to that region of the world could have told them that this would end in Civil War.

I really feel so, so sorry for our troops, for their families and for the innocent people of Iraq.

10. That's the point, though ...
I wonder how many of the problems we face in the entire world would be eased if people understood their history.

I also feel so badly for the troops and their families. I can not imagine being separated from my family for as long as some of these men and women have been. It's heart-breaking.
