we take care of that and the rest will take care of itself. The majority of the people want what is right for the masses, it's just we have been hijacked. I say we use our collective energy to remove this plague of corruption from our government and then sigh a collective sigh of relief, then we can take care of the rest of the peoples business, but only then.

1. Bush is a symptom

Getting rid of Bush, and even his whole administration, does not root out the underlying corruption of our political system by corporate money.

Putting a Democrat in the presidency will not solve our problems.

We need an overhaul of the entire campaign/lobbyist system that has undermined our democracy. Without public funding for campaigns, this country is doomed to be run by men just like Bush, with allegiance to multi-national corporations rather than their constituency.

2. Boomer's right

While Bush is a visible buffoon, it's quite clear he's not the one directing events (how could he??). There are major systemic issues which need to be sorted out, swapping the protagonists won't be effective in itself IMO.

3. *bush is also a symptom of

a citizenry who have become fat, dumb and lazy (present company excepted, of course ;=) ) if more americans were aware and cared as much as the typical DUer in taking their responsibilities as citizens seriously, *bush would never have happened.
