Halliburton reimbursed for overcharges. |
|
The Army has decided to reimburse a Halliburton subsidiary for nearly all of its disputed costs on a $2.41 billion no-bid contract to deliver fuel and repair oil equipment in Iraq, even though the Pentagon's own auditors had identified more than $250 million in charges as potentially excessive or unjustified. Words fail me. There is absolutely NOTHING these bastards don't think they can get away with. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/27/international/middleeast/27contract.html?ei=5090&en=065a4c95530f6860&ex=1298696400&adxnnl=1&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&adxnnlx=1141138819-t5UQpMgC45PFmlhVH3TkJg

1. A lot of the charges had NO PAPER RECORDS. |
|
Can you imagine filling out an expense report to your employer, making shit up without receipts, and they give it to you even though they know you're being dishonest?

2. While this country was fighting communism... |
|
During the entire Cold War era, this country was fighting communism, socialism, totalitarianism, etc. We needn't have. Corporatism was sneaking in the back door and now it rules us.

You're welcome halliburton. We should just give them the keys to treasury & save them the trouble of all this billing and stuff.

It would probably do a lot for my blood pressure, too. This crowd never fails to amaze me...day after day after day.....!
Over the past few days, something has been bouncing around in the back of my head...remember when Rove was in hot, hot water over the Plame case and God knows what else? Things were fairly quiet. Now, that Rove has stuck his nose back into the fray, it is one fiasco after another. Makes me think we are trying to get rid of the wrong guy. First Rove, then Cheney, then Georgie....or, do y'all want to leave them in office for the "entertainment?" they provide?

6. I want shed of all of them! |

I am an advocate of complete reform, more radical than most here. I am a disciple of Eugene V. Debs, a gentleman whose only mistake was being a century ahead of his time. He was eventually silenced by those who dominate us to this very day. Until the oligarchical elite which Jefferson warned us about are displaced, we shall continue in the same vein as we do today. Last election we had two gentlemen from the same secret society, the same elite prep schools, the odds against which were actuarially computed as 26 billion to one!
Listen to Thom Hartmann sometime, he espouses my philosophy (or perhaps I am adherent of his) most closely.

4. Hey, let's all start billing the Pentagon for shit. |
|
Say it's about the energy we expend in praying for our soldiers' return or sending them gifts and goodwill. I'd love to make an easy buck.
