Breaking on MSNBC -- more Baghdad violence
North of Baghdad, at a mosque and market, 15 more killed over 70 injured (first numbers, expecting more). Explosions.

8. They said the same thing on CNN...
Khalizad was proclaiming that civil war was avoided.

Blitzer happily agreed.

How insane and irresponsible. We have horrendous violence, and then we install mandated curfews and a heavy military presence. So yes, the violence does subside somewhat. However, that two-day reprieve is not evidence that all is sunshine and pretty ponies.

I'm so sick of the contrived lies. Just so intolerant of this garbage. They orchestrate "events"--such as a decrease in the violence--for the sole purpose of reporting to the world that civil war was avoided. Now, when those curfews--which cannot be upheld indefinitely--are canceled--the violence is just as fierce.

Do they report on that though? Is Khalizad out there saying the violence is escalating again and that he spoke too soon? No...the important thing is that he got out there to declare that civil war is not happening---and that's what we're supposed to believe from now on.

It doesn't matter if 10,000 are killed this week. Khalizad and BushCo declared that civil war is over.

They create reality and we're just supposed to slurp it up.
