Maryland Democrats ask Repug MD Gov Ehrlich to return Abramoff money
seems that republican Governor of Maryland was cozy with Abramoff and DeLay? Not good for his chances in 2006?

"Ehrlich has received $16,000 directly from Jack Abramoff and his wife, Pamela.
The Abramoffs each donated the legal maximum, $4,000, to Ehrlich for his 2002
campaign and for his 2006 re-election campaign."

“Governor Ehrlich has had close ties to Jack Abramoff since Ehrlich’s days as
Tom DeLay’s deputy whip in the U.S. House,” said Lierman. “Although Ehrlich
can’t return all the quality time he’s spent with Jack Abramoff, he can return
his tainted money.”

6. I think all Dems should consider asking their
Congressional peers to return Abramoff's dirty money today, not 5 or 6 months ago.
What have they got to lose? I know not one Dem is supposed to be involved, right?

And while I'm at it, I want to hear DEMS! What's up with Harry Reid? Make a
statement, especially since his name has been front and center. The same with
Dorgan. Accepting campaign contributions is not a crime, unless you're in on it
in nefarious ways.

8. I hate to bring it up, but it's out there. We need
for him to explain himself, or the chatter/gossip/maliciousness will continue and grow.

9. The repugs said that he was overly-defensive on FAUX news.
My understanding is that he accepted money from an Indian tribe, but not
JA's firm.

11. Bobby Haircut and his push for slots
Hmmm... makes this Marylander wonder if there was an ulterior motive to Bobby Haircut wanting slot machines so badly in Maryland! Especially since the prime target is Laurel Racetrack, which I pass twice a day.

12. I've only lived here two years and Ehrlich has
demonstrated to me he's a real P.O.S. His running feud with the Sun, Coziness with Abramoff and his obsession with slots is just too much. I lived under some horrible governors before i.e. John Asscrack and Kit-boy Bond but I believe (he) is the most corrupt of them all. Maryland is a blue state. Why is Ehrlich in office at all? I have heard that the Dem prior to Ehrlich was really bad.

13. Dubious that Ehrlich 'won'
Although I think that Townsend wasn't really right for that particular election.
