ABC doesn't seem to be saying anything, but there's reason to believe this show might be canceled. I believe the show could have a positive influence on viewers. It may be a bit idealistic and sure, it's Hollywood, but it has given me some things to dream for.
Make no mistake, even fictional shows and characters can change things. That's why they use TV doctors to sell medications, etc.

There is a petition to keep it going at the following link:

Thanks!

PS: I wonder if there are other motives to canceling it.

1. The motives to cancelling it are bad ratings. NT

5. And high production costs....
and internal staff strife with some of the producers.

3. And they wonder why it has poor ratings? I haven't been able to
find it on since the SOTU address. I loved the show.

8. same here ... if they'd bother to show an episode once in a while...
I would watch it.

I hate that Jane Curtin/Fred Savage show that was on. Blech.

And get rid of the damn husband! First Ladies always had to do and put up with that mundane, day-to-day and hostess crap ... finally there is a First Gentleman, and guess what! "I don't wanna do that, it's boring and unfulfilling and people tease me! I want to do something important and manly." And who gets to do the crap work instead, the President's MOTHER.

Except for that aspect I was liking the show.

4. Kill off the control freak hubby first...
That was probably the most nauseating part of that show, which I watched a couple times.

10. Yes, the first gentleman was....
not what we might wish he would be, but the first gentleman issues, albeit unpleasant (even repugnant), were realistic possibilities that might have to be dealt with.

Anyway, given the options on non-cable channels, I think it was one of the better shows in my humble opinion.

One of the posts mentioned ratings. Sigh. I have to agree. Broadcasters are really more "green" than "red" or "blue."

(But, I think "green" is politically closer to "red." ;)
