Raw Story: Abramoff Can Implicate Up To 60 Lawmakers
via WSJ

“Making the bribery case especially striking -- and worrisome for members of Congress -- is that some of its elements include transactions that occur in Washington every day. It is commonplace for lawmakers to solicit campaign donations from lobbyists, who routinely offer them in hopes of gaining advantage. Yet Mr. Abramoff also went far beyond routine practice by furnishing lawmakers with lavish trips, free meals and entertainment as well.

It remains unclear which lawmakers prosecutors are looking at, and also how persuasive Mr. Abramoff could be in helping to make potential cases against any of them stick. A onetime chairman of College Republicans -- a close ally of such party luminaries as Tom DeLay, Ralph Reed and Grover Norquist -- Mr. Abramoff says he has information that could implicate 60 lawmakers.” Cont…

4. Maybe the MSM will attempt to make both parties look bad
The big but is - any incumbent running in 2006, will be blasted by his
opponent if he is one of the sixty involved in this dirty business and that
can only be good for us. Twelve, twenty will due but sixty would be heaven.

5. Oh They're Already Trying To Make It Look Like
it affects both sides of the aisle. There's always that"well you know the dems may be in trouble too" bit but there's no way out of this one. They were so greedy for power and lucre that they have fixed themselves but good on this. The hammer is coming down on Delay & company.

7. This could include State lawmakers too, right?
Perhaps it's not just Washington that is involved. Just thinking out loud here, but where might he have needed some local grease for the wheels? Besides Texas, of course.

8. I Would Tend To Think That We're Talking Capitol Hill
because that is where is the big power is located but as I couldn't access the entire article I can't say for sure. There is a site that lists the politicians from each state that received Abramoff money and while most were in Congress not all were. For instance, Pataki is the only one listed for NY. Sorry but I no longer have the link.
