Question on Abramoff case
I was wondering: are any Congress/Senate people getting kicked out because of the Abramoff case? If so who? Thanks!

3. odds are Delay has no shot at regaining majority leader
Nobody has officially lost anything else yet, but its too soon to tell what will happen.

Wait and see.

4. The pundits are saying
this could be bigger than abscam and that resulted in six indictments. It's almost certain this will involve 20 to 24 on the hill. Half would be Senators or congressmen and half their staffers. That's who they're going to put in the cross hairs next-the staffers.

Certainly Delay doesn't have a prayer, neither does Ney. He funneled a sweet deal of a wireless phone network to be put in through JA and he's up to his neck in the Sun Cruz debacle.

Another one I'd bet is Tony Rudy, Delay's former deputy chief. But he's not going to want to take the fall for Delay so I expect him to sing like a trained magpie. Between him and Scanlon, Delay won't be smiling long.

But this has more shoes than a centipede wearing loafers and they're just going to keep dropping.

5. Geesh...The Wheels Of Justice Have Just Started To Turn
The only person who was indirectly implicated so far has been Bob Ney of Ohio...and that was indirectly. His name wasn't even used in the plea agreement and he hasn't been indicted, yet. This is like squeezing the mafia...it's taken a couple years for the various probes to work their way up the small fish and second lieutenants and now is just starting to make some waves.

As usual, the ball is in the hands of the prosecutors at this point. Since none of us know what goods they've gotten on anyone from Scanlon and Abramoff, it's difficult to know where this thing will exactly go other than up. All we can go on is that there was some type of conspiracy (Abramoff plead to that) and mail fraud...now if those are tied directly to Congresscritters, then look for indictments to start raining down in the weeks and months ahead. The smart Repugnicans will cash out and retire...the fools will try to run for re-election will facing trial or possible indictment. There may be some Democrats tarred as well...for getting too close to the dirty money...and if that's the case, so be it.

Now no one has asked the next question...and that will be if DeLay is squeezed...will he plea? Is keeping his bacon out of jail more important to the weaseldick than putting the finger on not only some of his congressional buddies but other beltway types as well (Tweety...we're looking at you). As Kristina Vanden Huevel so well put it...the problems isn't corruption in the Repugnican party...it's the corruption OF the Repugnican party.

Stay tuned...and get lots of

This is going to be quite an interesting year...

8. You'd Be No Fun At A Mystery Movie
Just think of this as a new "reality show"...every week someone gets tossed "off the island"...Keith Olbermann's apology library will be overflowing

Now we wouldn't want all this fun to end now would we? It'd be a lot more fun if we had a nice big climax in November  :spank:

My fun is hoping this scandal is tied into Ronnie Earle's investigation in Texas and the on-going MZB investigation that took down Duke Cunningham...and we still haven't gotten to Fitz's work.

From an old fart who remembers...Watergate didn't end with Nixon's resignation...it had a lot of legs...dragged on well into '75 and led to the biggest Democratic gains in the House and Senate since FDR's day. Considering how this regime is totally out of control now, there might not be enough popcorn for all the fun that's about to happen. I just hope the damage in life and lives are minimized.

10. Yes
Wouldn't it be nice if just before the midterms we gain enough seats to take the majority and be a Nixon thing again? It seems like we're doing so much dejavu lately.

9. Fortunately Bush returned donated his cash
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/article336547.ece
....At the same time, President Bush's re-election team announced it was returning $6,000 (£3,400) in direct contributions from the network of the lobbyist, who in all helped raise more than $100,000 for the victorious 2004 Bush/Cheney campaign.

Apperently $2000 of these dollars came from a Indian Tribe. Hmmmm?
