"You cannot separate the soldier from the mission."
You can not separate the soldier from the mission. Therefore it is unpatriotic to criticize and undermine the mission. Choose sides, there is no middle ground.

An... interesting way of thinking, which I saw repeated on, of all things, the comments section of a blog about Hollywood.

1. I use this situation
So if you have a friend who is harming themselves physically or emotionally do you support them and what they're doing? Such as if they're cutting themselves. Do you support them cutting or do you still support the person and want to help them?

3. That is truly........
That is truly one of the most profoundly retarded justifications to support a war I've ever heard. Give whoever said that an award.

4. Tell that to Custer's 7th Cavalry..
No we shouldn't blindly follow our damned fool President.

He works for us, not the other way around and anyone else who had lied, cheated, stolen, and performed as poorly as he has at his job thus far would have long ago been fired. So stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it.

6. You guys must be awfully young 8-D
The "You can't separate the soldier from the mission" is an old radical leftist slogan from the days of the Viet Nam War.

It was used to justify any kind of bad behavior towards military people.

Note that I said "radical leftist". The vast majority of progressives and liberals sympathized with the young men and women who were caught up in the Viet Nam War.

8. I'm 39 but I read that as conservative excuse making...
That's what they say on the right these days, i.e. you can't question the all powerful Oz because if you do you are insulting the troops...
