Stones need extras for their halftime show - no one over 45 need apply

You ain't getting paid, either, even though they're gonna make you attend up to five rehearsals of up to seven hours each. Charges of blatant age discrimination aside, what I want to know is, where is the TV actors' union? How come they haven't screamed bloody murder? How come they haven't called for a boycott of the Super Bowl? How come they haven't been organizing pickets in Detroit?

I guess we have to do all of this ourselves. Oh well. Here's some links. Go give these people a piece of your mind.

Otherwise, you'd have some absurd casting.

You can require that the person you hire to play Othello be a black male.
You can require your Little Orphan Annie actor be a young white female.
Your back-up dancers can all be buxom women between 18 and 24.

Extras often are non-union.

8. This isn't coming from the Stones - it's the NFL's marketing plan

The NFL has been trying to get new younger viewers for years. First Britney and Justin, now they don't want anyone under 45 to be on camera. Honestly, I'm surprised that they went all the way up to 45 - I would guess they'd rather have said 30 or 35, but they figured the pushback would be too much.
