What do you think of Chuck Schumer??? |
|
I'm watching him on the SPAN right now. I know he's part of the DLC and many throw him in with the likes of Biden and Lieberman, but I always see him writing letters to the Shrub demanding accountability, holding press conferences admonishing the adm., speaking up whenever he gets the face time, etc. I will admit I haven't researched his voting record and I should. Maybe he's all talk. It just seems to me like he's not so bad. Like I said, maybe I'm wrong. Just asking the for the opining of fellow DUer's, that's all.

3. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer and too 'approval-addicted' ... |
|
... for my taste. His body language and manner screams of trying way too hard to placate, amuse, and make smilies. He reminds me of nothing more than the C+ student scared to death the smart kids won't like him.

He's always on the Sunday Shows and he always makes so much sense. I think he lays out all the facts in a way that everyone can understand and consistently out-debates whoever he is up against. I wish he would talk about populist issues more though. His common sense approach to everything else could work wonders when applied to populist economics.

fighter for a limited number of causes. It is extremely easy to listen to him and always easy to understand his presentation.
He does not vote for the little people on some very important votes.
In general, he disappoints me on a grand scale on those votes I can't agree with and there are too many of them.

7. He's ok but has taken some potshots at the leftwing of the Dems, |
|
comparing us to the radical reich. Which shows an inkling to him maybe being a bit under informed. I mean seriously the far right wants to kill or incarcerate the left and all who oppose, the radical left just wants people to act more humane (and 99% dont want to kill to achieve their goals). The worst the left has to offer up is ELF the right has Army of God and other such kill for Christ outfits.
He is wrong to think anything on the left even comes close to the vile disgust and contempt for different people that the right has at its base.

I like the guy. I like that he tends to publicly speak up when things are fishy. He's amiable but tough and seems to have balls. He's a real NYer and I think he's clean.
We do joke that the most dangerous place in the world is between Chuck and a camera. But we kid the Sr Senator fron NY.

I like him for the most part. My stance on the DLC is as follows: I don't trust the group as a whole with corporations and the like, but when it comes to an individual person I look at them and their record(s). Actions speak louder than words.

14. Good guy, capable of thinking about & following principles |
|
Sometimes he gets a little caught up in the wishes of the metro NY electorate (e.g. his position on domestic security could use more enlightenment regarding the inviolability of inherent civil rights) but he kicks the right way on the issues, and especially since he's become the DSCC reelection chairman, he has absolutely been hounding the Dooboids on all the appropriate issues. Thanks Chuck, proud and grateful to have you as my Senator!

15. I don't mind him, and kind of like him |
|
I know he's DLCish, but I feel he's alot less DLC in nature than a whole bunch of others in that group. And as a New Yorker, I trust & agree with him more than Clinton, though I didn't really like the comments he made about progressives which I consider myself to be part of.
