Kos: WE are the mainstream media now
Kos: "I've recently been on a crusade against the term 'mainstream media' or MSM... In fact, there are tons of blogs and wikis and email lists that have larger readerships than most of the so-called 'MSM'. If Daily Kos was a newspaper, it would rank #5 in circulation (it would've been #3 last October, in the runup to the election). The top blogs have more readers than most cable news channel shows have viewers. And while their circulation numbers and ratings fall, our numbers continue to grow.

So really, why do we continue to self-marginalize by pretending we're not mainstream?"

Wow! Those are some very interesting facts I wasn't aware of.

I guess we really ARE the new mainstream media now!

4. I hope so. It drives me crazy when people feel their quotes need to be
from (the corporate) "main stream media" to be legitimate. We know that most msm is a propaganda arm for the * Administration and that much of what they say is biased and inaccurate, but still writers always refer to excerpts from the corporate msm as being the iron clad truth.
I do think sites like Daily Kos are becoming accepted as much, though, which is good. I hope they overcome the current corporate msm and do away with the current corporate media stronghold.

5. I will stop. We must get Washington Journal to recognize 'net'
media. They are so stubborn, limited, and tipped. Let's get a policy change from Bryan Lamb and his owners. Let's get the heads of most of their uptight male hosts loosened up.

6. Well, Gates/MS selling its MSNBC share to GE/NBC and then
making the deal with Direct TV and on-line stuff must be an indication that MSM, as we knew it, no longer exists...Also should thank their own incompetence and kissing B*as*
