Why is it that terrorists in Iraq are striking these targets <i.e., the funeral of a Shiite politician's nephew or a convoy of oil tanker trucks from Iraq's largest refinery en route to Baghdad>? These are not the hated Satan Bushitler Halliburton Americans whose presence made the “insurgents” so mad and drove these peace-loving people to don belts of explosives. These targets are Iraqi civilians, members of Iraq’s new government, and elements of Iraq’s future economy.
Why is it necessary for terrorists to hit these targets? Because, in spite of what the mainstream media reporters parroting the Democrat talking points say, progress is being made in Iraq. These are acts to impede that progress. If what America did in Iraq was so horrible, and such a failure, there would be no need for such acts. There would be civil war there now, in addition to widespread uprisings against the American occupiers, and the enemies of America could point and say, “See how America has destroyed Iraq.” Instead, they see progress and the promise of a working democracy in the heart of the Middle East. That has to be the Islamic terrorists’ worse nightmare, and it is being brought to them “courtesy of the red, white and blue".http://polipundit.com/index.php?p=11835This is yet another instance of a winger exhibiting a total failure to comprehend and therefore to intelligently explain a) what the insurgency really means; b) what is really going on in Iraq; c) how the media really represent what is going on in Iraq and d) what Democrats really say about what is going on in Iraq.
a) These are not acts to impede "progress" or democracy. These are not acts to hurt Bush or "America" or the neo-cons. These are acts to damage and hurt Shiites and to prevent them from taking firm control of Iraq (and its oil).
b) Contrary to what wingers think, it's not all about America and Bush. It's all about sectarian politics between Shiites and Sunnis (and Kurds) and the consequences of Saddam's Baathism post-Saddam (in a piece of geography that has some of the largest oil reserves in the world).
c) The American media suck at even seeing what's going on in Iraq, let alone representing it for American consumption.
d) Democrats have no talking points on Iraq. That's part of their problem.
