in 1999 that an major american city was destroyed, along with a financial district in new york and part of the pentagon was in ruins... would you have told me i'm crazy.... if i told you in 1999 that not only that but the president is spying on you, puts you on list for being a political enemy and isn't held responsible for any thing... would you have listened? If it told you in 1999 that the president started a war on lies for oil, denies he ever did any thing wrong, and appoints his buddies to important governmental postions... would you ask what country i was talking about? Mexico? Angola? in 1999 if i told you that half of Washington dc is being investigated, spies would be outed for there spouses defiance to the administration and our national treasures and parks were being auctioned off for cut throat prices... you'd have punched me in the face and said "stop it you're scaring me!". If i told you back in 1999 that a company can tell a city it wants your property and there's nothing you can do about it, that were losing several GIs in a war every month, and iraq is in a civil war... you'd probably start crying... if i told you that the united states of america tortures, lies, bullies, and does what ever it wants you'd probably get angry. if i told you your elections are shams and the government doesn't help the poor, the sick, or the old.... if i told you that the economy was in ruins, we owed china billions of dollars and it was hard to find a high paying qualified job.... if i told you that the media was spineless against a rouge administration, bush would lie to your face and stab you in the back and that corporations didn't pay taxes, nor did the rich you'd be furious.
the fact is that no one knew this was coming, you knew that if GWB was elected things would get a little tight but not dictatorial fascist, the truth is you can't go back in time but if i told you...
in 1999 that 500,000... half a million people would march on washington for peace, a sad mother would start a anti-war movement and the democrats got there spine back... you say that's impossible... if i told you in 1999 that deley was found out to be the sleazy dog he was, rove was going down and the administration was being investigated.... you probably get a smile.... what if i told you that impeachment was the word of the year or that democrats out raised their counterparts by millions.... you would have laughed...if i told you that dems were winning offices that they had given up on for years, a Washington outsider was leading the DNC raising millions for state parties... you say that was awesome.... if i told you that a little know lobbyist was being investigated for a lot of things and that his web was attached to most if not every republican in national office... you would have said wha??? with a grin.... and if i told you there was a community online for us to hide, to seek refuge and reassurance that we're not alone in the world... you'd have been jubilant.
no let's see if you can't add on to this... if you can't welcome some more members or invite some friends.... let's see if you can't make a difference, run for office, maybe start a protest, hand out flyers... inform people that they have a right... no a duty to be involed in politics, government and public discusion... you want to stop fascist from taking america? then you let your voice be heard, run for office...
the choice is yours, serve on you knees or die on your feet.
