It's good to know that in South Dakota... |
|
there are no children living in poverty nor going to bed hungry. That there are no children in foster care nor waiting to be adopted. That South Dakota provides free day care to all children so that their mothers can either take advantage of free education or work at well paying jobs. That all children receive excellent, top-rated medical care. That no one is working for less than a living wage. That South Dakota offers any child free secondary education. That all handicapped children are provided for with home nursing, therapy, and innovations that make their lives easier. That the aid provided to women and their children is more than adequate to cover all of their living expenses, so they can reside in clean, well maintained houses in safe neighborhoods, not have their utilities cut off for nonpayment, are well insured and their pantries stocked with nutritious food.
Since all of these conditions exist in South Dakota, I'm sure the folks there see no reason to force a woman to bear each and every child conceived and don't mind the increased taxes to pay for these additional people. They surely are a shining example to the rest of the country.

1. Also comforting to know that each and every |
|
sex act that results in the conception of a child in South Dakota happens in the context of a committed, loving relationship where the father understands and welcomes his duty and obligation to support and provide for his offspring. And, since, occasionally, the world is less than ideal, it's also great to know that on the outside chance a woman ever becomes pregnant as the result of rape or incest in South Dakota, she understands and acknowledges that it was at least partially her fault for being female and will happily atone for her sin by bearing the child and telling everyone she meets, "This is the child I had with my rapist" or "My daughter's dad is my dad, too!" And the response will be "How nice!"
Wow, what a state!

It's comforting to know that the SD legislature and Governor's office have caught up with all their important business so that they have time to focus on these issues and that their state coffers are full enough so that their AG's office can spend years of legal resources and money to fight for this all the way up to the Supreme Court.

4. Also, how great to know the women in S.D. are in *excellent* health. |

Near perfect physical and mental health, mind you. They are all physically and emotionally capable of gestating, bearing and raising these equally perfect chilren, just by virtue of being female. No one is ever stricken with any form of health condition that makes it unlikely or impossible that they can have a healthy pregnancy, or a healthy child for that matter, and raise it, without mutilating their bodies, dying in childbirth, or going insane from the stress of caring for an infant they may not even be stable enough to raise--even the 10, 11, and 12 year olds! Not like the rest of America, in which one in ten women will now face serious impediments to conceiving or sustaining a normal pregancy, and four in ten will suffer from some form of depression in their lifetimes, including post-partum depression and the situational depression affiliated with raising families.
Damn, y'all--it just hit me. Sometimes, knowing that an inherited condition I have makes it impossible for me to stay pregnant or remain healthy during pregnancy--even if I wanted to try to have kids--really gets me down. I think I should move to South Dakota where these issues should immediately cease to be a concern! Jeez, how come I didn't think of that sooner? Oh, right, that pesky "being a woman" thing. We don't really have brains or anything useful like that.

5. Now, now...you have a uterus! That's useful! |
|
The uterus is the most important organ in a woman's body, after all, for that's where the sacred and holy fetus gestates.
