1. Does donating to Abramoff's defense count as a charitable donation? |
Although, in fairness, hard to do that and pretend I don't know the guy at the same time. Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

2. I was thinking about this yesterday |
when I heard on NPR that Bush was giving his to charity. I'm with Randi that it should be given back to the Indians. Some guy on NPR said it was standard procedure that it be given to charity in circumstances such as this.

The republicans are more concerned that their party is right than their party is doing the right thing.

7. I doubt donating the money will help |
The gist of bribery is that you are performing public action based on private consideration. Presumably the public action (i.e., votes and convincing other members to vote) occurred a long time ago. It's not like the individual dollar bills received are evil and must be expunged.

9. I'll give you pretty good odds it won't go to Gulf Coast folks who |
probably need the most right now. More of it will go into things like each other's PAC's and election campaigns.

This is my point in the original post.
How do we know that the money that these people are giving back to the "Charities" isn't some other Shady deal?
