Abramoff: what's next and how you can help bring down the GOP
Incredible article on the Daily Kos by dengre -- link:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/1/4/23304/68429

"The GOP will lie. They will cherry pick slices of data to support simple-minded myths like Everybody Does It and Abramoff gave money to Democrats.

The press will have a very hard time with this story, because the corruption is so one-sided. Their Balance Bias will lead them to stupid examples of balance, like treating Harry Reid's support from Native Americans as equivalent to DeLay's $1 Million from the Russians, $500,000 from the Chinese owners of sweatshops and God (and Jack) knows what other bribes.

The Public will get confused."

2. None of the ILLEGAL donations went to Dems. None.
Why would a guy steal and launder money to "spread it around??" He was a Republicon operative working to enrich the Republicon Party - and of course himself.

NGU.

3. Recommended. Hugely important for the future of America.
The Republicans and their friends the "news media" will work very hard to insure that the public thinks the Democrats are at least as much to blame for the bribery scandal, as the Republicans are. Virtually every news story on television, radio, or in print will start off by naming two Democrats, followed by two Republicans, who are associated with Abramoff. Don't let them get away with it. This is how they get elected. They hide their own crimes, and try to make it look like Democrats do the same things they do. Don't let them get away with it!
Excellent post.

Good info. This scandal is a clear example of not only their corruption, but their exploitive agenda as well.
