i think my local nbc station is not going to show The Book of Daniel
tomorrow night. as i was watching The Office a commercial for Daniel came on and it was muted. this happened again two other times. after many many years of extensive televsion watching i know what a muted teaser commercial means: NOT GOING TO BE ON!!

i went to the station website and they still have it on the listing (after Miracles II)so i have sent an email (as has my brother) to the program manager and will leave a voice mail also to ask, politely, if it will be on and if not, why.

this crap pisses me off.

17. It's not that much more to add local channels, AND
when you add them,. you might be like us.. we got about 5 PBS channels we never got before..fantastic ones, and a few University channels too..great lectures & information....call them..or switch to Dish :)

2. This is wrong...if people do not want to watch this they don't have
to. This should be illegal to do...

4. Are you in a red city?
I'm also concerned. My town has a vocal bunch of fundies and very right wing Christians. I haven't heard that they aren't, but I bet there will be lots of whining. I hope they'll open the Houston affiliate for us if they decide not to play it here.

5. A man had a LTTE in the local paper requesting that people call the
local nbc station requesting that it not be aired.

13. I agree with you, and my family was making a list of all of the
documentaries that we'd write a letter to request be aired, i.e., Orwell Rolls in His Grave, Unprecented, Fahrenheit 911, etc. My husband was practically yelling, "What do these nuts not understand about just turning the channel or turning the tv off?"

6. Wow there must be a bunch of people in your area who don't have
a knob on their TV that changes channels.

8. I can't tell you which city, but Keith Olbermann reported this
Edited on Thu Jan-05-06 10:36 PM by sparosnare
He did a piece on the owner of a local station somewhere (Kansas maybe?) who has refused to air the program. Claimed he didn't want his viewers to be forced to watch it.

So what is he doing? Choice is choice.

15. Boy it must stink living in a place...
that only receives one TV channel and keeps you from turning that TV off and leaving the room. Jeez that place must really suck :eyes:

9. Here is what pisses me off.
More than likely the show is going to suck, and be canceled quickly. When that happens the fundies that threw a fit about it are going to take credit and feel empowered.

Just another faux victory for the faux chri$tians.

18. My local NBC affiliate had a story on this tonight
They gave three ministers a sneak preview and asked their opinions. While none would recommend the show, all said that is wasn't as bad as they had expected.
