Good riddance 2005
Horrible year. 2006? Well, let's just say I hope that large heavy objects drop on certain people's heads resulting in cartoonish piano teeth. Wouldn't that be funny? GW with piano teeth.

1. 2005 sucked. HELLO 2006!!
I'm excited about the new year. Which is weird, since I usually don't give a damn about a new year.

2. 2004 was bad enough... 2005 even worse....
If there is a GOd... if there is any sense of balance and karma in this world... I can only pray that 2006 sees a return to truth and a restoration of "good." We simply have to turn back the destruction of our country and our earth that this administration and its corporate, greedy cronies have undertaken.

3. Since 12.12.00 every year has been progressively worse-
on the national and international level.
I sincerely hope '06 is better and chimp is impeached then sent to the Hague along with all his little buddies.

4. Immediately after retaking congress in 06,
Our lawmakers seriously need to consider reinstating regulations governing the ownership of this country's media outlets.

Large corporations that currently own "news" outlets may continue to own them provided those news organizations are given complete autonomy. No interference or influence from within the parent corporation.

Absolutley no memos coming from the head office stating that "the American people don't want to hear about war protestors." It's not for the head office of any corporation to decide what the American public wants to hear. It's the fucking news goddamnit we need it all, the good and the bad, whether we want to hear it or not.

No more suggestions for puff peices because it would tie in with the promotion of (insert unrelated product with no newsworthy relevance here) that the head office would like the public to know about. Ya know what, there is already a system in place in the media that allows companies to show the public what they are selling... there called commericals. If the head office wants to promote the gotta-have-thing of 2006, they can show it then. I don't want to watch a fucking informercial, I want to watch the goddamn NEWS!

News organizations were supposed to be the watchdogs of our government, now we need watchdogs to keep an eye on the friggin media. So much of what the media tries to sell us as News nowdays is nothing more than fluff, opinions, and speculation... the rest of it are all flat out lies. None of it concrete, none of it with a shred of evidence to back it up.

The media is essentially the court of public opinion. In my understanding of courtroom dynamics, when one side doesn't have any facts, or credible witnesses, they play on the jury's emotions. If you can get them to think with something other than their rational minds, you can convince a jury of anything, no matter what the truth is. It's scary how many people I know, watch the "News" thinking this is the way it should be.

In everyday, verbal communication I lack the eloquence nessicary to convince these people that the "News" cannot be trusted. and that there is so much more going wrong in this country than what they have been allowed to see. I come off sounding like a conspiracy nut, while there being manipulated and they don't even now it. The frustration at times, is almost impossible to bare.

Rant Off
