Great FDR quote
Here is a great FDR quote I found and just wanted to share because of our current political ordeal with the "religious right" and the Bush neocon group(s).

"They who seek to establish systems of government based on the regimenation of all human beings by a handful of individual rulers call this a new order. It is not new and it is not order."

1. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was hands down the greatest president...
in U.S. history. He took the historical truth of class-struggle and applied it in the context of American liberty: recognizing both the sad necessity of capitalism and also its intrinsic evil, he conceived the New Deal, making government our protector against the savagery of the plutocrats. He therefore saved us from not one revolution but two, and an inevitable second civil war as well. By 1932, poverty had become so deadly, much of the nation was on the brink of a Communist revolution, while the fascists were themselves busily readying a counter-revolution. But because of FDR's election, the country became hopeful enough to reject tyranny of all kinds. The Republicans -- servants of capitalism and therefore fascists at heart -- have been seeking to undo FDR's achievements ever since, and with Bush and his corporatist/fascist/Christian-fundamentalist alliance they have triumphed to such a degree there is now a real possibility American liberty is wounded beyond recovery.

2. Fantastic quote. Thank you.
W has no right to rule the world based on his narrow beliefs. He wasn't elected World King.

4. Exactly
Hmm, I recall in 2000 he said in the debates with Al Gore we shouldn't police the world. Gee, whatever happened to that? :eyes:

Here's the picture with the quote:

I'm listening to Stephanie Miller's show from Wednesday on the third hour and she just played Bush's press conference and he said it wasn't about who had the biggest gun. Yeah freakin right. Like "shock and awe"?
