Yesterday, the Florida Supreme Court struck down the nation’s first statewide educational voucher system. The program - which Gov. Jeb Bush considered one of his proudest achievements - allowed children in the state to attend private schools at taxpayer expense. The court ruled that the program undermines public schools and violates the Florida Constitution's requirement of a uniform system of free public education. (AP)
