Add Wichita Kansas to the list of cities that won't see "Book of Daniel"
I just got this from my sister who still lives there. I left Wichita 2 1/2 years ago and moved to Portland Oregon. I'm sooo happy to live here. There are good people in Wichita, that being said..the book "Whats the matter with Kansas" explains a lot.

1. I was happy that the Jackson Mississippi NBC affiliate WILL carry it!
I'm a little surprised but very impressed.

2. Oh, what a surprise.
I wonder if anyone has ever done a study on porn video sales in Wichita? I bet they run really high.

Seems to be a direct correlation between public displays of religion and the not so public use of porn and other things from the dark side.

3. Wichita is a pretty good place to live...if you can tolerate the abortion
protesters and the whack jobs on the Kansas school board. Housing is still affordable, cost of living is low, and over all people are pretty nice. Just don't talk religion or politics or your liable to find yourself in a quandry.

I have a terrific group of friends back there that I miss dearly. Ironically, Most of them I actually attended the same faith communities with. College Hill United Methodist Church, Unity Church, and the "New Thought" church there were all faith communities that were quite progressive in their thinking.

After living here in the Northwest I doubt I could ever return to live there. I'll visit on occassion but there is just so much to do here, like minded and progressive life views, the coast, mountains, rivers, flowers.... Its great.

The things I miss most in Kansas are my friends, thunderstorms, crisp fall mornings, and home grown tomatos.

4. Kansas State Fair & Methodist women's fried chicken dinners there - yum
Went to the Kansas State Fair back around 1985 or 86. It was like travelling in tmie back to the 50's - but a lot of fun. But nowadays, what IS the matter with Kansas? I'll have to read that book.

8. United Methodists are a pretty cool group...and the Methodist Women
are awesome. Very active in the community. If you get the opportunity, go to Abilene to the Brookville Fried Chicken house. Its the best family style fried chicken dinner you'll ever eat! Abilene is also a very cool historic town.

9. Dark side?
Wow. Can't have consenting adults watching films made by other consenting adults -- IT's DARK SIDED!

And, just fyi -- enjoyment of adult entertainment knows no party lines. That's just a BS propaganda line that authoritarian lefties like to throw out.

6. Great . . . and I was just going to start telling the religious freaks
to move to Kansas (or Utah, or South Carolina with the secessionistas for that matter) . . . and a sane spot has to show up in Kansas . . .

7. Not being carried on KARK in Little Rock, but will still be available
on WB.

"KARK-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas, and WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, Indiana, announced Wednesday they would pre-empt "Daniel," when it premieres Friday at 9 p.m. Both are owned by Nexstar Broadcasting Group.

KARK-TV declined to air "Daniel" citing "careful consideration" of viewer feedback. Little Rock's WB affiliate, KWBF-TV, will air "Daniel" instead."

10. It makes me ill, as it's not the LOCAL people protesting..
