Gas taxes in North Carolina increased 3 cents and gas increased 15 cents

So the state GOP is saying that we're being taxed to death. No mention of record profits by the oil companies. No mention of the fact that when one gas station owner refused to increase prices on his gas the oil company came and pumped his tanks dry. No mention that gas is about 75 cents more per gallon than on election day in 2004.

I did notice a sudden drop in gas prices when Congress pulled all the oil executives in to question them about price gouging. Two months later they're rising as fast as ever.

You want to decrease gas prices? Forget about rolling back a three cent tax increase. Lock up a few oil company execs for price fixing and see if prices don't come down.

Blaming gas prices on taxes! I know all about that. Nebraska repukes bitch about this sometimes. They never want to address the root of the problem that we are using way too much of a resource that is running out quickly. Gas has been rising slowly for the past few months. Time to haul some oil execs in before Congress again. Stupid republicans bitch about how we want to "change their way of life" by making them get out of their Yukons and Suburbans. How do you think your way of life will change when there is no gas for any automobiles of any kind? Those "Hollywood elitist's" electric cars won't be so funny anymore!
