The president said it is only natural that people who speak the same language relate better. Molly Ivins, Bill Moyers, and many others are more qualified than I am, to point out how he's tried to co-opt a Hollywoodized version of the dialects and customs of his adopted state. Bush pushing foreign languages. I was at the gym and the TVs (w/o sound) were on. I read the blurb and burst out laughing. Another woman in the gym asked me what was so funny. I said Bush wants kids to learn foreign languages. She asked why that was so funny. I told her I thought it was high time Bush learned to speak English.
