9. It is amazing how the financial talking heads are trying to pump up
perception

The stock market is "booming" blah, blah, blah

Anyone notice the price of gas in the last week?

Anyone notice that most of the jobs created were in the service sector

Corporations will win at the employees expense

Eventually, we will stop buying, and maybe then things will really turn-around

10. I don't think it matters so much
any more what the people think. * is going to say what he wants and believe what he wants and do what he wants. I don't think MSM cares either. I think they are just putting these polls up to keep us busy. ( keeping the population distracted keeps us off their backs)

...ON CREDIT! Measuring the economy by how much people spend doesn't help anyone, neither . Only when the credit card bubble finally busts will some people realize how bad off we've become...

12. Un(der)employment is 29%
This article states there are 44 million unemployed or underemployed, which is 29% of the workforce.

http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_john_kel_051020_insourcing_.htm

Paul Krugman wrote in the NYTimes that median income has been falling each year for the last 5 years.

And people like George Will and President Bush just don't understand why all these spoiled Americans are whining about the wonderful, booming economy.

Bush just announced (in some economic forum in Chicago) that unemployment has dropped to 4.9%. In fact, he was so proud of this statistic that he repeated it for emphasis. The only problem is that it's not true.

Do you agree with President Bush that the U.S. economy has a "full head of steam"?
Yes 26% 6065 votes
No 74% 17247 votes
Total: 23312 votes

13. Voted; CNN will be pulling that poll with those results. I would agree
Bush has got the economy going full steam ahead for the rich and richer.

By the way, does anyone know when Bush & the VP will speak to all the Americans they are supposed to represent?

Will they ever do that instead of only speaking to the rich, military and hand picked audiences?

health insurance? Even if they do have jobs, many people are just one real health crisis away from bankruptcy. This applies more to younger generations proportionally than it does to older ones, so it means the economic future of the U.S. is crippled.
