Foot problem forces Cheney to use a cane
Foot problem forces Cheney to use a cane

Associated Press

WASHINGTON - A foot ailment forced Vice President Dick Cheney to use a cane on Friday, but it didn't affect his sense of humor.

"I'm a little hobbled-up today," Cheney told workers at a Harley-Davidson factory in Kansas City, Mo., where he was highlighting upturns in the economy. "I don't usually carry a cane, but (Defense Secretary) Don Rumsfeld has been chewing on my ankles."

Lea Anne McBride, a Cheney spokeswoman who is traveling with the vice president, said he was experiencing a recurrence of a "pre-existing foot condition."

She didn't disclose details about the problem with Cheney's left foot, but she said it was being treated with rest and anti-inflammatory medicine.
Cheney is no stranger to a cane. In September 2005, he returned to work with a cane after surgery to repair aneurysms behind both knees.
McBride said the foot condition is not related to the surgery or the 64-year-old vice president's lengthy history of heart problems. He has had four heart attacks, quadruple bypass surgery, two artery-clearing angioplasties and an operation to implant a special pacemaker in his chest.

4. "pre-existing foot condition."
Medical advice to Cheney: Keep your foot firmly out of your mouth. The condition should improve immediately. If the pain persists, take two aspirin, and tap my phone in the morning ...

5. Sounds a lot like Gout.
I used to get it when I ate too much red meat and drank too much beer.

They call it rich man's disease. Gout is recurring and is treated with anti-inflammatory medicine.

He knows he's not flavor of the month (tastes like santorum must ?), so he's going down-low to contention aimed his way. He wears glasses regularly, so that's not an option.

Ever notice this phenomenon at work, when groupthink proclaims that someone's rising too high, and lo they appear with some sort of debility one morning, so's to reassure everyone that they're not worth being the target of contention ?

Woof woof, we're all Connected, bow wow wow I'm following the piss trail. I feel Firm and Confident, Trusting that we're all Under Control.

That numbness on the balls of your feet - especially for women. It comes from wearing high heeled shoes. :D Although the thought of Cheney in his wife's high heels and lingerie is both funny and disgusting.

34. Gout. Betcha.
Because they say "anti-inflammatory medicine".

NOT ALL cases of gout come from previous heavy drinking, I am told. But of the few people I know who DO have gout, they are w/o exception heavy drinkers.
