OH NO: Co-worker's son headed to Iraq!
One of my co-workers has a son around 20 years old, who joined the Marines last year. I just found out today that he's scheduled to go to Iraq the end of February. His dad is not happy about it at all (he wasn't happy with his son joining the Marines to begin with). My heart almost broke when I heard he was going to Iraq. I was actually crying at my desk. I can only pray that he comes back alive.

I work with another person who is 20 and is in the National Guard. Due to a leg injury she is unable to go anywhere, but she has a lot of friends in the NG in Iraq. I feel so bad for her, too. I mean, WTF is the NG doing over there????

I'm just so upset just thinking of those young kids over there.

1. wishing him a safe tour
these kids are willing to give up so much - wish there was more indication that the politicos in DC took the sacrifice of the kids, seriously - not as a joking (gee I got injured too, clearing brush on the ranch) matter.

3. I can't understand why any young person
would voluntarily join the armed forces, knowing they would probably end up in Iraq. I don't know why the young man joined, but I do hope and pray he'll be safe and get to come home alive.

because I didn't get jack shit for financial aid but then I decided to do what every other student does: take out more school loans and sink further into debt. It's the American way!

They really make it tempting for a college student...

:( I hope he comes back too and may God and the powers that be protect him and all who are over there. Too many have already died from greed and oil. :(

9. My Son left in November
He has been in Bagdad but left at the first of the year to Tikrit. I am very uneasy with him being at Camp Virginia. I was getting to messenger with him but have not had any contact with him since he left for Tikrit. Drives me absolutely freaking crazy... and it will until he comes home....
