What are the odds that Abramoff will be assassinated?
The differences between the mafia and today's GOP are negligible.

We know that if this were a mafia case, Abramoff would be hidden away in a safe house surrounded by an army of agents.

It's obvious that his revelations threaten many, many powerful Republicans, right up to the gangster-in-chief in the White House.

So is Abramoff a dead man walking? And if he's not, does this mean that the GOP will throw DeLay and a few others overboard, confident that the public has a short attention span?

1. They can't kill him until they find out what he told the feds
otherwise, they will get nailed for the assassination.

Don't you watch movies?

8. You may be right, ThomWV. But if he ends up sleeping with the fishes,

it won't be personal. It will just be business.

Nonetheless, if I were Abramoff, I'd steer clear of Italian restaurants, massage tables and row boats.

9. Be interesting to see the lining of that chapeau, too
And doesn't that car glass look a bit "ballistic?"

He probably has a babysitter or two. I sure would take protection if I were him.

19. A lot of companies do custom work
They say the guy who does Hugo Chavez's clothes is the Armani of the genre--he doesn't just convert the clothing of others, he actually makes his own, with great attention to design and fashion, and shoots his employees regularly (while wearing his products) to test them out. No one has died yet, so it must be good stuff...

Here are a few others:

http://www.bulletproofme.com/Ballistic_Clothing.shtml

We can add a front opening ballistic vest to a jacket or raincoat you provide with a 3 to 8 week turnaround from receipt of jacket and payment. Though it is usually not practical to cover arms or legs, we can cover down to the hips. (Plus you could add Upper Arm Protectors in Level III-A.)

http://www.bulletprooflove.com/products.html Quark carries an extensive line of bulletproof garments, vehicles and accessories. From a traditional bulletproof vest, to a custom made, full length Burberry trench coat to vehicles lined with the latest ballistic material. Quark has the answer for your personal protection.

7. I've been thinking an Oswald/Ruby repeat is imminent.
Although, if he's already spilled alot of beans, maybe they're just screwed.

12. No, Beelzebud is correct
The Ruby situation was when Oswald was in custody.

Abramoff is going to commit suicide

by shooting himself in the back of the head

while hanging by his neck from a rope

with no chair (or other support in sight)

while his hands are tied behind him.

Or, at least, that's what the Texas coroner will rule.

14. It depends, if those babies were
Republicans and they supported a tax cut for the richest 1% while bankrupting the rest of the nation, there would be a major uproar by our fourth estate and the Republican controlled Congress would give Bush a strong censure for eating babies on live T.V.

13. Too high profile and too many people are watching.
They may get him later, or neutralize him some other way, like scaring the shit out of him so he doesn't show up in the news again.

15. Randi is talking to a caller right now about today's lack of Abramoff
coverage by the MSM. I guess it's about time for a blond teenager to be kidnapped in Tasmania or somewhere, which will become the lead story for the next couple of months.

21. What makes you think this isn't a mafia case?
Edited on Fri Jan-06-06 06:17 PM by KerryOn
On February 6, 2001, Gregory Boulis the former owner of SunCruz casinos is gunned down in a mob style killing on his way home. Two cars stopped him and three hollow-point bullets were fired into the chest.

On August 11, 2005, Jack Abramoff and Adam Kidan are indicted by a grand jury in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on bank fraud charges in the purchase of the Florida casino boat company SunCruz. Abramoff and his partner Kidan failed to make good on a $23 million down payment owed to Boulis. They had wired the money from a closed account.

On September 26, 2005, police arrest “Big Tony'' Moscatiello, at his home in Howard Beach, N.Y, on charges of murder, solicitation of murder and conspiracy to commit the murder of Gregory Boulis. Police also arrest Anthony “Little Tony”' Ferrari, at his home in North Miami Beach and James “Pudgy”' Fiorillo, at his home in Palm Coast, Florida. Fort Lauderdale police said other arrests were possible. A grand jury indictment detailing the murder charges was sealed. Law enforcement officials alleged that Moscatiello was an accountant for New York 's Gambino crime family. Moscatiello was a former business partner of Kidan’s whom Kidan had paid $250,000 for catering services.

It appears that there was a pay off for the hit on Boulis.

I think the mob is involved and I think the chances of Abramoff being assassinated is VERY high. NOt only by the mob but by the government.
