Who saw Murtha on c-span?
This comes from right winger Byron York. Is he taking Murtha's comment out of context? The right wing is slamming Murtha for politicizing the war over this comment. I need nelp refuting a right wing nut case.

Murtha Fears a Withdrawal that “Makes It Look Like There’s a Victory”

The antiwar congressman speaks out — again.

Representative John Murtha, the Pennsylvania Democrat who has come to national prominence since his call for a quick withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, said Thursday night that he worries about "a slow withdrawal which makes it look like there's a victory."

Appearing at a town meeting in Arlington, Virginia, with fellow Democratic Rep. James Moran, Murtha said, "A year ago, I said we can't win this militarily, and I got all kinds of criticism." Now, Murtha told the strongly antiwar audience, "I worry about a slow withdrawal which makes it look like there's a victory when I think it should be a redeployment as quickly as possible and let the Iraqis handle the whole thing."

1. Do Not Forget!
Rep. Murtha is well-connected with the leadership of the Armed Forces, particularly the Marines, as I understand it, and has been the public face of their concerns for decades. This admonition is another message from the military to the Bush Cabal, that they are still mishandling the whole situation.

2. remember c-span archives its programs. I did see it live after someone
here posted that it was on. go there and watch the stream and forward it to the RWer. They still have the tendency to deny reality, so good luck.

3. I am not sure how you can make an imploding country look
like a successful imperialist venture.

It should be stressed - Iraq went from essentially a secular state to,,, well,,, something else. The transformation is ongoing.
