I'll admit it: I have a perverse streak. Since joining DU in April 2003 I'm still under 100 posts on these forums, something my beloved 1000+ post and frequent DU article contributor wife finds unfathomable.

That perverse streak led me over to Free Republic today, despite having come away from the site a couple of times with a bad stomach and a conviction that the human race is genetically doomed.

Quoth their main page: "Most visitors to Free Republic are attracted to our very popular (and, warning: addictive) conservative news and discussion forum...". A quick browse through some of their threads taught me two things.

First, Free Republic is such a criminal misuse of HTML it should carry a Surgeon-General's warning. And second, the sig lines of some of the posters are too freaking hilarious not to share.

To spare anyone else the horror of sullying their browser with the site, I brought back a sample of FR posters and their sig lines (presented verbatim). Enjoy, but keep the antacids handy!
