Theocracy - It doesn't take half a brain to realize what it really is
"Americans must be "Christocrats" -- citizens of both their country and the
Kingdom of God -- the Reverend Rod Parsley told his congregation on a recent
Sunday at his World Harvest Church, located just outside Columbus, Ohio. "And
that is not a democracy; that is a theocracy," he said. "That means God is in
control, and you are not." "

It doesn't take half a brain to know what a Theocracy really is. In this day and age, all it takes is a little bit of common sense to see the truth.

I am a religious person, I have faith in God, but I abhor the concept of theocracy.

It's so sad though, America, with the Internet(s) and an Educational System is letting people like Rod Parsley take control of the debate.

Everyone needs to know that a Theocracy isn't about God, it's about the Church and how IT wants power.

I mourn for America, this shouldn't be happening.

1. They keep saying that the people should have overthrown the Taliban.
Then they want to introduce an exact model of that theocracy here, including religious indoctrination in schools. So at what point does Afghanistan get to invade the US to free us from the theocracy?

3. ...Indoctrination in schools?
I don't know what school you went to, but I certainly wasn't religiously indoctrinated. The teachers at my school made a special effort to include all faiths equally.

4. are you paying attention to what the theocrats and fundies are doing
in the schools? does the whole creationism/intelligent design nonsense ring a bell? or the demands to teach the bible? do you know who sits on your state's textbook committees? school vouchers? demanding that planned parenthood NOT be allowed to deliver sex education lectures (as the fundies recently did here) banned books? etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum, ad infinitem.

6. My school didn't, and that was years ago. It was all Jesus, all the time.
It was a small, rural school, but still...there are lots and lots of those schools in the U.S.

2. Nope. It's definitely NOT a theocracy.
A theocracy imposes the rule of one and only one faith. Lotsa faiths involved here. They're just tools. This is a fascist takeover. Check the dictionary.

7. STP's definition of theocracy
Government run by a gang of religious fanatics who are delusionally convinced God died and left them in charge.
