Cheney's new neighbors complaining
Good Chinooks make bad neighbors: Dick Cheney's neighbors in the Chesapeake Bay town of St. Michaels on Maryland's Eastern Shore are reportedly complaining about the V.P.'s traffic-stopping motorcades and early-morning helicopter flybys. "I hear that Mrs. Cheney is delightful. But I've had great big helicopters fly over my house at 3 o'clock in the morning and at 1 in the morning," a disgruntled neighbor tells the New York Daily News. "I can tell you I'm not happy. They're very noisy. The dogs start barking, and we can't get back to sleep." The neighbor also claims that residents are told to stay inside their houses when the Cheneys' motorcade goes by, but local police say the second family is no more of an inconvenience than any "normal group of very influential people." (N.Y. Daily News)

19. The SS is just trying to protect Cheney's neighbors. If you
look directly into Cheney's face, you turn into stone.

4. It's The Same For Democrats, Too
I understand a lot of John Edwards' neighbors were upset during the campaign because their neighborhood streets were often blocked off by Secret Service. Plus with the media cricus...

still, it must suck...

7. How much have the Cheneys donated to the local police department?
... no more of an inconvenience than any "normal group of very influential people."

You need hip waders to get through that remark.

20. This might be the only time that a neighborhood association would be...
desired or benifitial. Wouldn't it be great if they could vote him out of the neighborhood?! Someone needs to warn them about Diebold, though. :evilfrown:

21. nominated just because this thread is so funny
Normally I stick to nominating the threads that are newsworthy, outrageous, and infuriating; this one is just wonderful and fun but I still don't want anyone to miss it--I'm sitting here wiping tears of laughter from my eyes:

"Slime trails"! "For me to poop on"! "Screams from the basement"!... they're all so funny!
