Here's an interesting thought...

Today/Friday, al-Qaeda's #2 man, Ayman al-Zawahiri, boasted that President Bush's announced plan to pull 7,000 troops out of Iraq was a sign of "victory" over American forces in Iraq.

But, knowing how "reactionary" and the simplistic a view Bush has of the world, would it make sense to taunt the man (President Bush) into possibly "changing his mind" and leaving those forces where they are just to prove you wrong? Not unless that is EXACTLY what you want.

I mean, think about it. The longer U.S. troops stay in Iraq, the more they (al-Qaeda) grow. Their celebrity and power is at an all-time high. And we provide them, not only with live targets and realtime training, but the perfect excuse for them to continue their cause and grow. Face it. They have far more to loose if we leave.

The best way for the Bush Administration (or any President) to succeed here is to call their bluff. Announce to the world that we're not so stupid as to fall for such a pathetic trick, knowing that al-Qaeda has more to loose by us leaving than if we stay, and tell the world that we aren't that dumb.

But my prediction... Bush is so simple-minded and easily played, that he'll reneg and leave those troops in there... which is exactly what I think they want... playing THEIR game, just as they have been all along.

Dance puppet, dance!

1. How do we know that's what he said? We lack translators
they could lie to us and we wouldn't know it.

2. Exactly
Before Bush was in Iraq Al-Quaedia was in sixty something countries. Now they've doubled that number. Probably trippled by now.
