that Mother out there? I know there are lots of mothers and Cindy Sheehan led the way but this mother of Juan Torres holding his picture and giving the Peace sign breaks my heart.

That should be on all the front pages of the papers across the country but our corporate m$m wouldn't dare.

28. And I suspect we'll be seeing
a lot more parents like Mr Torres out there. Just as Vietnam had a lot of African- Americans fighting, this war seems to have a lot of dead returning home with names like Torres, Martinez, Hernandez, etc. Hispanics are considered to be a "swing group", one the GOPee has been heavily courting on the "family values" rhetoric, but they may end up encountering a lot of backlash on that one, too.

Family values, indeed!

The protest is great, and a great subject of course, but the photos themselves are also really well done. That second one is like Pulitzer Prize good.

36. Great Pictures
I was there yesterday and it warmed my heart. To be with a group of like minded people that actually understand what is going on. While I was down there I had a conversation with a guy that said something to the effect that we need to get more unions involved in these protest. He mentioned that in Europe they practically shut down countries for events like this. Yesterday we had steel workers and they were a lively bunch. My highlight of the day was the Code Pink Ladies. It was impossible to not appreciate their spirit and enthusiasm. Thanks for the pics. PM me with your email I will send more. Still haven't figured out how to post them here.

38. There are a couple of ways to post pics
The easiest is just to type in the url when you post. You can't post photos off of your hard drive so you need to go to a photo hosting site and set up an account. http://photobucket.com is what I use. After you've loaded your photos there, click on them, right click, look at properties then post it in your post. It helps to preview your message first just to make sure everything worked.
Welcome to DU, welcome to the fight, have fun.
