CHARLOTTE, NC, Jan. 6 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The saga of Jennifer Wilbanks, the "runaway bride," captured the attention of the nation. Now, in a book titled "Runaway Lives" to be released in February, her family pastor, Tom Smiley, addresses the emotional undercurrents which affect the lives of millions.

Says Smiley, the Gainesville, GA, minister who became the media spokesman for the Wilbanks family during this headline-making saga, "This book is not about Jennifer, rather it speaks to the inner-conflicts which cause us to make unwise decisions, and how to get our lives back on track."

In a statement read to the nation by Smiley after Jennifer Wilbanks' return, she admitted, "I was simply running from myself and from certain fears controlling my life."

The book ($19.95 hardcover, LifeBridge), deals with the issues of selfishness, fear, anxiety, envy, impatience, indecision and unexpected crisis.

LifeBridge publisher, Neil Eskelin, says, "The advance orders and media attention this well-written book is generating should make it a bestseller."

NOTE: Publication date is February 7, 2006. Media interview schedule requests being accepted. Book cover jpg available.

1. Caputred the nation?
Whatever. My dad and I agreed that this story was the dumbest one of 2004.

2. Congratulations to you are your Dad ...
.. for being able to choose the 'Dumbest News Story of 2004", when there were SO MANY to chose from.

Good choice -- now if we can just get this 'awards' show aired, I think the ratings would be through the roof!

As for the 'reverend' trying to make a buck off it, I'm sure Jesus is proud as punch!

8. Oh yes
I'm sure. It was either that or the sad deal with Terri Schavio.

5. I wonder if the pastor covered
the fact that the bride's future hubby was a 100% bone solid nut case?

He found Jesus after being a party monster and no longer wanted sex & was
a big time repug w/ an eye for political office.

And i found that out waiting in a Dr.'s office .... that Damn People Mag.

7. I've driven by that church a few times.
My daughter's best friend moved to Atlanta a couple years ago and they live just a couple of miles from that place.

I chuckle each time I drive by it.
